Comments: Hi Tim, I live in Canada, but am originally from Pedace. I got to your web site when I did a search on Google
for "Pedace". I go back to Pedace every couple of years. I knew Luigi Marano, he used to read the hydro meters in
town. I also knew one of his daughters, Lucia. We attended the same university for a couple of years (in Cosenza), before
I returned to Canada in 1986. I spoke with my mom, and we are pretty sure that Raffaella Rota is Luigi's mother. Luigi also
had a daughter named Raffaella, who died many years ago. He has three daughters in the Cosenza area (Lucia, Norma and Maria).
Maria lives in Pedace. My mother just came back from Pedace in October. She says that Luigi was still alive but was in the
hospital. He might still be alive now. If you want, I can ask my family and friends in Italy to get you an address (possibly
e-mail) or a phone number from your relatives there. I will be going back to Pedace next summer, with my wife and daughter.
Maybe I can contact Lucia and tell her to look at your web site. I hope this helps.

Comments: Victoria Marcella is the same person that stood up for Grandma & Grandpa. She lived in the mining towns
where they lived and she was a godmother to a lot of the Italian babies in the mining camps and in Irondale. I think she might
have been a witch. She also is the person that went to Grandma's house on the day that she had her first stroke and when she
couldn't get Grandma to open the door she called us and I was the first one there and I couldn't get in either.Victoria told
me that she had seen a boquet of red rosed in her dreams the night be fore and so that meant to her that something was wrong
at grandma's house. I could hear Grandma yelling in Italian in the house and it was clear that she was not well. I kept asking
Victoria what she was saying because I couldn't understand Italian. Victoria kept saying I don't know. When I had tried all
of the windows and the door and was at my wits end Victoria said all she is saying is the door is open. Then I realized that
only the screan door was locked. I was so upset with Victoria that she didn't tell me earlier because then my Dad came and
we tore the screan and the door was unlocked. I guess Victoria just was not understanding what I was saying. She spoke and
understand english well but when we are upset we don't think real well I guess. Actually, when we got inside and saw Grandma
she had a stroke during the night and she was all bruised up, real bad. She knew that something bad had happened to her and
so she crawled to the steps and rolled down them so she could unlock the door and then she drug herself back up the stairs
and to her bed and into her bed. Do you remember the house and how when you go into the front door you then have to climb
about 6 concrete steps the get to the door in the kitchen. That day was a very stressful day.
